Corollary from my long-time friend:
When the husband-and-wife MDs selected specialties, she chose psychiatry and he chose proctology. They opened a practice and called it "Odds and Ends."

Thanks for the nod but here's the rest of the story. When my high school boyfriend and I were thinking about the future he was going to be a psychiatrist and I was going to be a OB/Gyn doc. After med school we'd get married and open a joint practice called "Odds and Ends." This is true. Thankfully we didn't get married. He now lives a hippie like existence in Oregon on his own goat farm with his wife and kids (both kinds) while making tons of $ tele-commuting to the Silicon Valley in CA.
