Bathroom Redo: Before and After

As promised, here's the pictoral proof that the renovation happened in my bathroom. It is L-shaped. We had them remove wallpaper, flooring, cabinetry and commode. They painted the room a celery green, installed tiles on the floor [note the diamond cut-outs] and above the shower, installed a new gee-whizzzz toilet which flushes and finishes in 20 seconds, and installed a new vanity, hutch, vanity top, mirror and light. See for yourself.

The best $40 spent was on a Crescent Shower rod. It's available at Linens 'n Things and well worth the money.

Since it's obvious that no self-respecting male person would be caught dead in the bathroom in the first picture, let me take this opportunity to applaud you for undertaking such a splendid rehabilitation of the room -- obviously in the hopes of getting your husband to go to the bathroom indoors once again.

Well done!

Sippican: We learned years ago that two bathrooms makes for a good relationship. He has his own place down the hall [which is next on the renovation list and he picks everything.] But, due to the close proximity, he has indeed used that bathroom--after hours, in the dark.

I thought you'd have been proud of just getting real wood-faced cabinets. And the super suction toilet of course.

Visions of Al and Peg Bundy when Al got the new toilet in one episode of Married with Children.

Al went on a tear about how it just went VARSOOSH....reminds me of the one that you put in. Just be sure not to get sucked into the whirling vortex.....

Also reminds me of the ones in some of these airports/restaurants that you hardly stand up and they're already flushing your innards down the toilet....

My home remodeling these days consists of a new $2 shower curtain....and a new bathroom light cover because I dropped the other one and smashed it into a zillion pieces.....well...at least the bathroom got vacuumed. *lol*

Glad that you're enjoying your new digs!!

Well, I didn't know you folks are what whe use to call "two toilet Irish" around here. Someday, perhaps you can be "lace curtain Irish."

You have learned the foremost detail of bathroom remodeling- you can't get far enough away from anything to take a picture of the whole place. But the part I see is a vast improvement.
