Out-Foxxed

We went to Lewisville's Memorial Day ceremonies today. We were expecting our U.S. Congresswoman, Virginia Foxx, to be a featured speaker. She was in Washington, D.C., having her first bill signed into law. We'll let her off the hook for that. Her local staffer made the presentation in her place and did a good job.

The hour-long ceremony included the local American Legion, Boy Scouts, current soldiers, and local dignitaries. The key order of business was to recall the sacrifices of our armed forces and to dedicate the new monument in the town square. It's a life-size statue of a battle cross, similar to the one depicted here. Very fitting.
