The Holy Father Has Died

I just heard on the radio the Holy Father has died. There are many signs of hope for believers in him dying on this day, or at least this week. Today is the First Friday of the month. As a direct result of the children visionaries at Fatima, Portugal, the First Friday devotion began. John Paul II canonized the two children as Saints, with the third, Sister Lucia looking on. Sister Lucia died recently at a ripe old age. A second cause for hope is that this is the week of Divine Mercy. The Feast of Divine Mercy begins on Good Friday and ends this Sunday. The Feast is a direct result of Saint Faustina [a Polish saint] and her private revelations received from Jesus in the form of visions. John Paul II canonized her, as well. Three years ago, he proclaimed the Feast of Divine Mercy to be celebrated the first Sunday after Easter. A third cause for hope is the life of the man himself, lived in humble service of Jesus Christ on the throne of Peter.
